Reading all the recent brouhaha over the “are we living in a simulation” argument, I’m compelled to write this post.

Does the brain exist and evolve to prolong the survival of the body? Or does the brain use the body to prolong its own survival? Or are they one and the same thing and should not be discussed as two separate entities?

Intelligence without a brain
Is it possible to have “intelligence” without having a brain to account for it? Are bacteria intelligent? Better still, are plants intelligent?
