"There’s no reason it should be difficult to reduce the color band to it’s simplest representation – an action command – an equation, (a fractal), and then re-expand it into reproduceable image."

Unfortunately the solution would be complete only when that step is done and accomplished, and a final picture demonstrated.

here we go - granted - there's not a pixel available at this resolution for every color. But this was a simple image to create in photoshop. Photoshop also allows you to create 'actions' - a series of commands in photoshop that will result in this image. There's no reason it should be difficult to reduce the color band to it's simplest representation - an action command - an equation, (a fractal), and then re-expand it into reproduceable image.

I think perhaps what's missing is an inverted version, (going from black at center to white in the distance), w/ a blended grayscale between them.

"Can you point out where in the picture is the combination of (dark-red + dark-blue + light-greeen)?"

In my attempts at finding the color you mention a combination of Dark Red + Dark Blue + light Green, the resulting color in photoshop is simply black

it would seem that the test of 'survival' on a specific timeline are the major criteria of the learning entity in regards to measuring intelligence.

In this case, at first glance, plant life seems largely unintelligent.

However, at the second look, plant life has utterly dominated our planet, (notice the similarity in the words we gave them).

In the words of the Buddha, the noble horse rarely feels the whip.

Plants are most-intelligent, if serving as Jesus' example of the yeilding pacifist.

One other thing--most people's eyes see color differently per each eye. Try it yourself. Close one eye, and look, then close the other and look, then do it rapidly. You will see minor variations in colors from one eye to the other.

"Paint" Edit Colors has a two step process in Custom Colors which addresses the initial color, and then a side bar, which addresses the black/white luminosity aspects of the color you select.

The main custom color selector does show grayed versions of the colors, but does not address the extreme black and white aspects of the colors. The side bar does that.

Maybe if the main color selector was much longer, it would be possible to have it all in one.

The problem for me would be that you couldn't get in tight enough on the color wheel to see the actual pixel of color that you want, hence for me the two step side bar works.

Color gradations are infinite. How does one make a large enough color selector?? :)

It's like, how many grains of sand are on the beach?

Have BFA and took many color classes. Color if fun, especially when you get into color "bending", color vibrations and after images.

There are also some meditative aspects of color. Staring at one color for a long time can result on eye brain coordination reception anomalies.

Here is something else to ponder.

How can one address the shiny, matte or irridescent aspects of finishes and color on a computer?

About 10 years ago, I was working at a company bought by Bernie Ebber's Worldcom. Lost my job because they merged the operation with another division and moved the whole operation clear across the country. I creamed in my jeans when I saw Bernie Ebbers on TV being led into Federal Court, handcuffed. He was convited.

Ten years and a few jobs before that, I worked for a financial services company in the technology department. After a few old timers retired, they promoted some operations guy (ex-military Type A personality) to run everything. The creative guys in programming and engineering left. I left. One buddy stayed because he needed the money. He was on Valium in no time. Six years after the operations guy took over, my old buddy practically begged me to attend a pay-your-own-way party. The technology department threw a party for a few guys getting promoted, and the operations guy who was taking early retirement.

A month after the party, the company I was working for (and had that technology department as a long time customer) sent me down there to do some work. I ran into another old co-worker. I told him I had attended the old boss' retirement party. He laughed at me. He said the boss didn't retire; they fired him.

So, I called up my old buddy. He confessed he wanted me to be at that party where everyone but me knew the ops guy was being forced out. Twist the knife some more.

It is only a matter of time before John Donahoe gets kicked in the teeth.

You said that most folks do not know what really is going on in the halls of eBay.

This is why the buyers and sellers are so frustrated. We "know" something is wrong. We have suspicions but no one will talk.

I have read many of your posts and have believed that you are an upright guy. I can only guess at what you had to put up with that would make you quit.

The sellers and buyers really need some information. It makes one wonder "Who is John Galt?"

Seriously, you are the closest thing to a refreshing voice of reason I have heard in the last year, but still don't know much more than what you have said above.

Write the book. It will sell!!!
